The Levels of Power

Who is the most powerful entity in the United States? Is it the President? Army? Congress? Or the People?
No matter what the media says, we know that it is not the president. The presidents are changed every few years, and so why give absolute power to someone who is not going to be in power tomorrow. He would either be voted out by the people, or he would be impeached, or maybe given a permanent vacation (two to the head to be exact).
Then there’s congress. The peoples voice. They represent us, but do they really? See it could be said that congress is representing the people but which people are being represented? Is it the people who are of flesh and blood, or is it the ones who the supreme court are people even though they do not exist as a person, but are an entity. So congress has been hijacked and represent those who have been lobby groups, mostly the K street gang.
Now the constitution says that its the people who have the power. We control everything with our votes, but what happens when people are too dumb to understand what is it they are voting for? People voted for Barack Obama because he was black and hip. That’s it, there wasn’t any solid reason for voting for him. It was the opportunity of a lifetime, and I also was one who supported the man until it became apparent that he wasn’t who he seemed to be. When it was revealed that he was getting TONS of money from wall street, it became apparent, that he was not going to be a champion of the people, but he was going to do everything in his power to back up the financial powers. It became more apparent with the nomination of Ben Bernanke. See the people are voting only for the party for which they think represent them. Those who are republican generally will vote for a republican, and those who are democrats will do the same. Now what if the people are not as informed as to who to vote for? See being committed to a group is like being part of a gang. Your either one or the other, and it doesn’t matter what wrong your group does, the other group has done worst, and that is WRONG. People need to start holding their group personally responsible for their actions. There is no reason that we don’t look at the wrongs that the democrats have done in such a short time holding office. Sure most of the problems that unraveled were under republican watch, but it was under a democrat eye where NAFTA was enacted, and with the health care bill looming, it will be in 10 years where we will see the effect of the bill. But the people are the ones who are supposed to hold the power, but it has been sort of hijacked from them because of…
The military industrial complex. The army. The Pentagon. See this is where the power is held. If the people are a gun, then this is the bullet. They are the ones who run up our deficit. Shit they are the ones who pretty much took us to war. Don’t believe me, look back at the profits being made by the weapons companies prior to 2001, they weren’t pretty numbers, but look at them since this country went to war. ITS BOOMING BABY. The pentagon is even looking at wikileaks.com as the enemy because they are showing people documents that the military deems sensitive because we are not ready for information like that. No people, its that as much as the administration preaches transparency, its really the second most secretive area. Now the hand that controls both areas are…
The CIA. This is where the power is held. They decide who becomes president, they decide which congressman is voted in (with the exception of Ron Paul, who is the only person we have to trust). Shit Ron Paul actually said that the CIA has committed a Coup of the government and is involved in every facet of our society. The financial markets, medical, even affairs in the foreign markets are controlled by the CIA. They are the ones who do everything to make sure that society is shaped in the way that they please. They know all the dark secrets to the politicians, which is why when they want something done. Its done, no questions asked.
A recent poll said that the citizens are in fear that the government is getting so powerful that they are in fear of their civil liberties. But its not the government we should fear. Its the people who silenced Kennedy, for they are the ones who control us.

There is a looming danger going on people. More and more I hear the calls and that’s for Internet security. Now if it was for just protecting people’s security from hackers I would be ok with that, but that’s not what is scaring me. We are upon a moment of time where people are screaming for security, but as a form of ID so that if anything were to transpire, it would be known who did it.
If the draconian ways have it, then not only will it be for security, they will also extend it towards who uses the freedom of speech that makes the internet one of the greatest inventions ever. If a government deems it illegal for me to get a internet license just because I dont agree with their ways then am I wrong or are they? If its up to the government to deem who is worthy for a internet license then who is it that is going to tell the people that the government is doing wrong?
In China, I would have to be a registered blogger before I could say anything, and who is going to talk bad about the government if you are registered? That’s why we need to rise up and not let the government do this, because then there would be no checks and balances. The internet is great because we are able to check the government in a way that they cant control. Sure they would give reporters the tools to blog, but when was the last time a reporter did something? Matt Taibi said what he had to, and it seemed like all the media circus wanted him to be burned on a cross because he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Because he was doing something that they, the reporters, forgot to do before the money came into the mix. Newspapers and magazines will want to register bloggers, because they are losing money day by day with the constant rise of internet use with smart phones and with the smart books. They stand more to win with you and me under a bunch of restrictions.
The fact of the matter is, freedom is the most dangerous tool against a government. And the job of the government is not to protect the people, but to sustain itself. Yeah we have 2 sides to our government, but in the end, its only one more choice over communism.

Obama Year 1

We are approaching the first year in the historic presidency of Barack Obama and what have we learned? Well, he’s a great teleprompter reader. Really, that’s it. I cant really think of anything relevant that he has done in his first year. So you say that he is trying to change health care. This is America, we don’t do anything right!! You could give the government a blueprint how to make health care efficient and our government would still find a way to fuck over the little man while making themselves look better.
Think back at the presidential debate, and John McCain said that this was going to be a long strenuous war. He said that a pullout of the soldiers was going to be a difficult task to imagine in his first term. And then the grand maestro came in and swooned us. He was going to make it the first issue in office to get the soldiers out of war. He talked about how it was wrong that there were soldiers on their 4th and 5th tour straight. How it was the regular people who were suffering, not the high paid wall street people. No, Obama was the main street titan and wall street was going to pay for everything that they have done. He promised accountablility for the horrible crimes being committed in the over seas prisons. He was going to be the right for all 8 years of George Bush’s wrong. He was the outsider who broke into the ranks. Or so we thought…
What Obama did was the biggest about face in modern history, or maybe in all of history. He sided with wall street in every major way. He still hasn’t done anything to take care of the dwindling middle class. He has though taken care of the upper 10% of the population. The ones who Forbes magazine want us to feel bad for people like Oprah who lost a quarter of her net wealth. People if a billionaire who loses a quarter of their wealth, they still TONS of money to play with. If Joe Smith loses a quarter of his wealth, he has a major problem on his hand. Obama has lined himself up not with people who care about main street, but with former Goldman Sachs employees who are whiz’s are destroying the architect that made this country the strongest super power ever.
Obama in his first year as president, won a pulitzer prize for keeping a war going on that he promised to end. Not only did he promise to end the war, he criticized John McCain for wanting to keep the war going. See what people dont understand is that Obama is a slick lawyer, and thats one of the key elements that is taught to you in politics. Say what the people want to hear. Here’s a well speaking, young president, that came out of no where and took up the political game in his hands. We should have seen that he was going to take an about face in the war issue. He pulled out 15,000 soldiers but let the war mongering companies put in that same amount of mercs into the field. He said during his speeches that it was going to take a lot more than one term to end the war. More than one term is the key words. He is telling us that he is going to be re-elected as president and there is no pullout of the soldiers going to happen. Of course that he is going to say that he is gong to pull them out 2011, its exactly what you want to hear. Buy as always, some issue that no one expected to happen, like a resurgence of the Taliban (Who works for the CIA, many many times over), or he would escalate the war with Iran to the point that he is going to surround the country with all of our soldiers which would make alot of sense. We went to Iraq to liberate the people (LOL I loved that lie. It was classic), then we hopped over Iran and fought in Afganistan and now some how the fight is moving over to Pakistan. Turkey is an ally of ours, so we have the country on lock down. The only other country close to a border is Saudi Arabia which is a boat ride away but they are provoked the war with Iran more than any other country.
Barry Soltero, sorry I meant Barack Obama how did i mix the names up?Guess the lies just got me mixed up, is not the man who we Hoped he was. And for the record, no one is supposed to sell hope, but Obama did just that, and he also promised change, which is going to happen with a smile on your face. Only because the chosen one told us it was going to…

The Economic Calamity

The global depression is about to knock on our doors. We are about to head into survival of the fittest like depression and there is no person on planet earth that is immune to this… except the big wigs. See if you haven’t noticed it yet, governments all around the world, especially in the US are not doing anything to protect the people, they are only interested in protecting themselves and their buddies in the big companies.
Fed chairman Ben Bernanke is credited by many for helping stop the economic bleeding, but look closely and it seems that the signs were written on the wall for the country to go into debt. Ben Bernanke once famously said “The US government has a technology, called a printing press — or today, it’s electronic equivalent — that allows it to produce as many dollars as it wishes at essentially no cost”. Now those words have been put into action, this is called ‘quantitative easing’ and the only easing that it does is the manipulation of the stock market. See if you listen to the TV economist, they tell you that things are getting better, the market is over 10,000 and it seems that sky is the limit. Now lets divulge deeper into this. The market tanked deeply due to one of the most famous TV economists Jim Cramer telling people to take their money out of the market as fast as they can. He set of a massive scare tactic even though the night before he was the one who was telling people to “buy buy buy” as he famously says.
Next we have the US government who keeps telling the public that things are looking better, but the situation keeps on getting worst. Ever hear that saying, if you tell a lie enough times that it will soon become a truth. Well that is our unemployment numbers. They say its at 10.2%, well let me correct myself its at 10% as of yesterday, but look deeper into these numbers and notice that these numbers are only the people who collect unemployment checks. They don’t count people who stopped collecting, part time workers, people who quit looking for a job and they don’t tally the death/birth ratio. The government also doesn’t have an algorithm to calculate how many small business jobs were created. They just make up the numbers, sort of like the bailout.
The education system. Yes hard to believe but even the education system has played a bigger role in the destruction of our economy than you believe. See there was a time when education was affordable. People would graduate from high school, and get a quality education with the aspiration of attaining a career. But soon, economics started playing a role in getting an education. So the price of tuitions starts to increase while the level of education is getting worst for the cheaper schools. Now as we all know, public education is nothing in America. Its actually worst than 3rd world country education. And then when people were able to catch up to the tuition prices, the economists went ahead and started to make new books every year and they forced people to pay $300 per book. So the level of playing field wasn’t as fair as it should be. I understand that education should come at a price but there comes a point when people shouldn’t be investing 30k or 40k just for a year of tuition. Then America makes it a point for kids to go to school and take out dozens of loans just for they could be able to get an education without caring if the kid could afford to even get something to eat. And those prices dont even include the dorm fees which up the ante up to 10k per year.
Television. Now televisions role in this is the influence that it has on us wanting to love money. Money has become its own religion. Its more powerful than love, and more worshiped than which ever God you believe in. How many relationships are broken because of money disputes? TV shows make it a good thing for people to win money, the lottery has found a way to sucker people into buying tickets with all the commercials that we see on tv. “Only a dollar and a dream” is the phrase used here in NY and it might be one of the most used phrases i have ever heard. I hear that more than Amen which is a sad thing. Its all about the benjamins P.Diddy said and how sad that instead of asking for health and family, people would rather ask for money just to make things good in they life.
The final culprit in the economy tanking is credit. Well more like the people and the countries who get it. Do people understand what the word means? I mean it drives me crazy that people just didn’t read the fine print to the credit card statements. Since birth people are told to carefully read what they sign, and that always included the fine print. When I was 16, I will never know how but I obtained my first credit card with $4,000 limit. You give that to a kid, and believe me he’s not going to know what to do with all that money. I went crazy, you better believe that I was the best dressed person in school for all of my high school life. All was good until I was 19, then the reaper came calling. I didn’t make too many payments largely because I never really thought of making payments, I just thought that the money was always going to be there. But it taught me a valuable lesson, NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS. I wasnt surprised that Dubai went into default with their debt. They bought MGM less than 5 years ago, and immediately were trying to dump it off early this year. They were trying to sell it for drastically less than the amount than they paid for it. I wish that people would just read between the lines. I understand that some people need credit, but the chickens will come to roast. Its easier for people to just call the creditor and tell them that they are broke instead of paying one credit card with another. Think about it, you wouldn’t borrow money from a shylock just to pay another shylock. It doesn’t make sense and thats exactly what its like when you take money from a credit card. Except the credit cards took the shy locks out of business.

The US PATRIOT Act must be abolished. I have heard many people say they would be willing to give up some liberty in order to keep their freedom. The thought of this disturbs me because liberty and freedom are the same, if you give up one you lose both. This is the question each person must ask themselves and the answer will let them know if they are living in a “free” country. Are the people afraid of the Government or is the Government afraid of the people? Under this abominable act, I would have to say we the people are subject to the Government and the Government is not remotely answerable to us. Is that not the very definition of despotism? Our founding fathers declared that we have certain unalienable rights: the US PATRIOT Act maintains that we have no rights except those given to us by our Government. Let us examine what the US PATRIOT Act is and what it does. We must also consider the Constitutionality of the act. Moreover, it is only fair to look at applications of the US PATRIOT Act from the perspectives of the Government and the citizens.

The very name US PATRIOT Act would send shivers down the spine of any Senator who would dream of not voting for it. Refusal to vote for such a patriotic bill in the face of impending national security breaches would seem like an endorsement of terrorism. In fact, the very name US PATRIOT Act is an acronym designed for the purpose of entrapping those morally opposed to it. Surly those who would oppose such a measure are not Patriots. This is what the acronym US PATRIOT Act stands for, “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act.” Many Congressmen have stated that the senate floor was pushed into a state of frenzy and they were not even allowed to review the bill before they were told that it had to be passed for the good of the country. It is Thomas Jefferson who stated in the Declaration of Independence that a Government is entrusted to ensure the rights of those being governed. Not allowing the Senators to read the act before its passage clearly goes against that principle. How can they accurately represent the greater body of American citizens, if only their emotions are used and not their intellect? Young Thomas Jefferson went on to say that it is the very responsibility of the people to abolish the Government that does not achieve its purpose of ensuring the liberty and justice of its governed people. The US PATRIOT Act in its very design and purpose strips liberty and justice from the people. Lets us examine a few “Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism,” and let the American people decide if their liberty is what is truly obstructed.

We now know what the US PATRIOT Act stands for; let us look at what it does. This act refuses some of the most basic human and American rights laid forth by the Constitution of The United States, and common moral conscience. The Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003 or (DSEA) was the last bill that amended the US PATRIOT Act, it was passed in 2004. Unfortunately it stripped even more rights away from citizens. Section 501 defines “terrorists” as anyone who breaks State or Federal law. That offending person can also be lawfully detained without an arrest warrant and be legally detained; however it would be illegal for any government agent or citizen to tell where that person is being detained. There is also no time limit to that person’s incarceration. The Government does not even have to tell the media or any other entity if a person has even been detained because Section 201 says so. Section 312, grants law enforcement agents who even suspect someone is breaking a law, the right to use surveillance against those surrounding the accused without a warrant, and makes that agency unanswerable to applicable State and Federal laws. This completely throws out the Third Amendment to the Constitution which gives citizens the right of privacy. Section 106, gives the Government agents the right to hold secret criminal courts, while giving immunity to conduct illegal search and seizures. The Fourth Amendment, which gives citizens defense against illegal search and seizures is completely overturned by Section 106. The current version of the US PATRIOT Act entails far too many atrocities against justice and due process than can even be discussed in current time constraints. I highly encourage every American citizen to realize the importance of examining the bill themselves, because it seems to be our new Bill of Rights. There are some who would argue that the US PATRIOT Act has brought our country greater security in these times of global uncertainty. It is only fair that we further examine these assertions.

We now know what the US PATRIOT Act stands for and what it does; let us consider its performance from a Government and a citizen’s point of view. On Wednesday July 13, 2004 the Justice Department released a report to Congress by Attorney General John Ashcroft. The report stated that 310 people and 179 convictions or guilty pleas resulted from the use of the PATRIOT Act. This report which I read about in the Washington Post, also told of two cases (although there were others) in which the PATRIOT Act was used for traditional criminal convictions. In the two stated cases one was for a child pornographer and the other led to the rescue of an eighty-eight year old woman who had been kidnapped. I do feel like my intelligence was insulted by the report, especially with the inclusion of the child pornographers and granny-nappers. What is easy to miss in the report is that the PATRIOT Act was used on ordinary citizens and not traditional terrorists. No doubt the severity of the crimes was a calculated admission in order to cover up the fact that Americans with much less severe crimes and even those who were innocent were unconstitutionally investigated with the PATRIOT Act. There is a more recent article from the Washington Post, regarding the FBI’s misuse of the PATRIOT Act. The report from the Justice Departments inspector general Glenn A. Fine, states that the FBI have used their PATRIOT Act powers with no restraint, no justification and extremely little oversight. The main point of contention involved the use of exigent letters, which assured telephone companies that it was ok to go ahead and release private information because subpoenas or national security letters were on their way. There were 700 such letters which were uncalled for and without follow-up. FBI Robert S Muller III took full responsibility for the FBI’s involvement in what he called “deficiencies.” Unfortunately, Mr. Muller was not handed a life time jail sentence for unlawfully stripping American citizens of their Constitutional rights; he was simply acknowledging what the media reported and said that he was going to clean it up.

Finally, after carful consideration of what the US PATRIOT ACT is, how continues to steal freedoms from the people, and its history of misuse; we have little choice but to end it. We declare that it must be abolished. Many like to point out that the PATRIOT Act was enacted by the Bush Administration; however the Obama administration is currently seeking to expand its powers. We as American citizens must get out of this left, right paradigm. Fighting this act is about freedom, it is not (everyone’s favorite football game) about Republicans vs. Democrats. Many people have compared this act to Nazi policies in Hitler’s Germany and that is not what I am seeking to do. However, there is a poem that was written by a poet named Martin Niemoller which I believe exactly describes what will happen as long as we fellow Americans continue to act as cowards.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist; Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

We must not allow unrestrained, unconstitutional Government authority to crush us. The Government is ours; we do not belong to the Government. In the first paragraph I asked the question; “are you afraid of the Government or is the Government afraid or you?” I asked myself that question and I would have to say that I am afraid of the American people’s blind acceptance of tyrannical Government powers, just because the Government said that it is to protect them. We must demand our freedom. Peacefully, but we have to be active to the point that, any Congressperson who votes on any bill that so much as hints as impeding the rights of citizens, has ended his career. We also need to educate ourselves on the issues, and turn from the hypnotizing glare of the television. We need to learn what it means to be Americans again. I can’t help but recall the final phrase to the Pledge of Allegiance “to the republic to which it stands one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.” The only way that liberty and justice for all may be maintained is with a Government of the people for the people and by the people, not by an act that shall forever live in infamy.

Health Care Deformed

Health care reform is an explosive issue in our society. Many health care and insurance industry leaders say an overhaul of our nations system is long overdue. Politicians debate over specific policies they believe would best accomplish this endeavor as their political interests are protected. While the debate focuses on how to best reform the U.S. system of health care, few argue that it needs to be done at all. What all sides are failing to realize is that our government has a history of failed and misrepresented government programs. Furthermore the current proposed health care reform measures and the constitutionality of government run health care should also seriously be considered. Health care is too personal and important an issue to be entrusted to government.

First of all the Untied States government has a long history of failed regulation. Most recently our country was plunged into a recession due to under regulation of the banking industry. In order to purge us from this recession the United States congress voted to give a corporate bailout to large companies and other banking institutions, with very little oversight. In short, our government sought to fix a problem caused by under regulation with 3.5 trillion of citizen dollars and more under regulation. Some citizens and our government deem the corporate stimulus package a success. However, when asked how the government could afford the bailout money the president of the United States said that the Federal Reserve could just print out the money. In actuality, whenever the Federal Reserve loans the United States government money it is loaned with interest. Our government officials stated that the cost of the corporate stimulus was not a tax; however the price of consumer goods and services increased while corporations cut wages and continued to down size their employees. This act was indeed equivalent to new taxes. It does seem ironic that the very taxpayers who are enduring foreclosure are paying the companies who are doing the foreclosing. On my city block alone there are two families who have had their houses foreclosed on. Does new taxes by increased inflation during a recession sound like a good idea? In the above case of the corporate bailouts, the largest corporations were the ones to benefit while the American people continue to grow unemployed. Likewise in the case of health care reform, the largest corporations will also be the ones to benefit the most.

Now that we have considered the recent history of a questionable government program we should review proposed health care reform bill measures. Health care reform is favored by most if not all major health insurers and institutions. The reason for their support is because they were promised by the authors of the health reform bill, that they would actually make more money from a more insured populous. While the largest industry in the U.S. economy is promised increased profits, the American people are promised a more affordable health care. It behooves us all to become informed citizens and discover who benefits from government programs ourselves, while not taking what our government and media tells us for fact. For example one common blurb from the main stream media and political aficionados is that the government sponsored plan would be a great competition to the corporate plans, thus driving down insurance costs. This sounds like a reasonable statement; however on page 72 the proposed health care bill states that all private health care plans must conform to government rules to participate in a health care exchange. This is not so alarming until you read page 84 which states that all private health insurance plans must participate with the health care exchange. This constitutes government control of not only the government plan but even the private insurers. Page 124 and 127 give us an even deeper understanding of the big picture as no company will be allowed to sue the government for price fixing, (having a monopoly), and that the government will set all wages. This does not sound like competition it sounds like a complete governmental takeover of the health care industry. Would the American people benefit from reduced heath care costs? Page 58 and 59 of the proposed health care plan state that every individual will be issued a government health I.D. card, and that the U.S. government will have direct real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic fund transfers. Not only does this plan attempt to take over the entire health care industry but to have improper jurisdiction over the personal lives of every citizen.

Moreover, this brings us to the question of the constitutionality of proposed health care reform. Governmental health care reform falls under the jurisdiction of the 9th and 10th amendments of the U.S. Constitution. The 9th amendment states,” The enumeration in the constitution, of certain rights, shall not be considered to deny or disparage others retained by the people.” The 10th amendment states, “The powers not delegated to the United States nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved for the states respectively or to the people.” These amendments to our country’s most sacred defender of personal liberty, limit congress’ power to only those given in the constitution. The Constitution of the United States does not give the congress any such power as to the regulation of health care. Some have argued that the 14th amendment grants such power in the right to regulate interstate commerce; however this is an ineffective argument, as health care is of a non commercial and personal choice.

Finally, after an examination of the recent history of the United States government’s corporate regulation, proposed health care reform bill measures, and their constitutionality; we must seriously consider if health care reform is worth the further degradation of our economic civil liberties. While I am extremely concerned about the costs associated with our modern health care system; I am also concerned with the 635 billion dollars over 10 year price tag. However, I am most concerned about the Federal Government having complete jurisdiction over my private funds, and to even mandate those who do not have insurance to pay a penalty, (more taxes). After considering all these issues I am of the firm opinion that a citizen’s need for personal medical care is too important to be trusted to our government, and government interference is in fact unconstitutional.
