Loss of Freedom

There is a looming danger going on people. More and more I hear the calls and that’s for Internet security. Now if it was for just protecting people’s security from hackers I would be ok with that, but that’s not what is scaring me. We are upon a moment of time where people are screaming for security, but as a form of ID so that if anything were to transpire, it would be known who did it.
If the draconian ways have it, then not only will it be for security, they will also extend it towards who uses the freedom of speech that makes the internet one of the greatest inventions ever. If a government deems it illegal for me to get a internet license just because I dont agree with their ways then am I wrong or are they? If its up to the government to deem who is worthy for a internet license then who is it that is going to tell the people that the government is doing wrong?
In China, I would have to be a registered blogger before I could say anything, and who is going to talk bad about the government if you are registered? That’s why we need to rise up and not let the government do this, because then there would be no checks and balances. The internet is great because we are able to check the government in a way that they cant control. Sure they would give reporters the tools to blog, but when was the last time a reporter did something? Matt Taibi said what he had to, and it seemed like all the media circus wanted him to be burned on a cross because he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Because he was doing something that they, the reporters, forgot to do before the money came into the mix. Newspapers and magazines will want to register bloggers, because they are losing money day by day with the constant rise of internet use with smart phones and with the smart books. They stand more to win with you and me under a bunch of restrictions.
The fact of the matter is, freedom is the most dangerous tool against a government. And the job of the government is not to protect the people, but to sustain itself. Yeah we have 2 sides to our government, but in the end, its only one more choice over communism.

Chinese block U.S. reporters from event
The following information is from CNN but I am going to post it before they pull it down.
(CNN) – Officials and journalists attempting to enter the room where President Obama and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao were planning to meet in Copenhagen were caught in a chaotic scene that left nearly the entire U.S. press pool outside, and reportedly nearly prevented White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and National Security Council Chief of Staff Denis McDonough from entering. Gibbs attempted to gain access for American reporters after Chinese cameramen pushed into the room, and Chinese security behind then blocked the entrance to U.S. media attending the event. Told “no photo” and “no press,” Gibbs responded: “Hold on. Hold. I’ve got to get my American guys in because everybody else got in…. My guys have to get just like your guys got in. This is a joint meeting, and my guys get in or we’re leaving. …” One photographer was able to gain access to the room. No U.S. television or print reporters were allowed in to cover the event.
